Peugeot
EX1
As a tribute
to the Peugeot brand's 200th anniversary, The 2011 Peugeot EX1
has been manufactured to exemplify world-class possibilities in
electric cars. Making its world premiere in the 2010 Paris Motor
Show, the striking 2011 Peugeot EX1 is the most current 2-seat
concept car by Peugeot that is one hundred percent electric.
The Peugeot
EX1 has architecture that is futuristic and original plus this
four-wheel drive has a maximum capacity of two hundred fifty Kilowatts.
The EX1 has also broken several records for its acceleration abilities,
coming from a standing start.
Floating
frontal grills and contours that flow enhance the reverse-opening
door's aluminum components. Access to beautifully finished bucket
seats and instrument panel screens give each rider a glimpse of
the car's flabbergasting performance. This future-looking arrangement
immerses each passenger in a sophisticated environment, enhanced
by the on-board instruments. Embossed leather and pure metals
surround you as you sit back and enjoy the car's performance.
Drivers sit
at floor-levels in a position of driving with outstretched legs
that enhances the exhilaration. Two control handles are utilized
for driving the EX1 and provides an experience similar to aircraft
pilots. Harnesses within the car protect each occupant, along
with the carbon passenger cell's height. This has an overhead
clearance sufficient to include a protection roll-over bar. The
perfect style and integration of the wind deflector lets you drive
the Peugeot EX1 daily without needing a helmet.
Powering
each axle with 125-Kilowatt motors that are electric, there is
a peak 167 HP output and a max torque on the rear and the front
of 240 Nm.
Unlike previous
electric cars, the Peugeot EX1 has performance levels that let
you reach speeds electric cars have not been able to reach in
the past. The aerodynamics, distributed weight and lightness give
this car the capacity for lightning accelerations that can exceed
a gravitational force of 1G.
Shaped like
a droplet of water, the 2011 Peugeot EX1 has a rear built around
the two rear wheels, which are closely set. This type of architecture
enables the passenger's compartment to become reduced for weight
distribution that is optimal and which ensures that the overhangs
do not get any extra weight.
The technical
solutions of the suspension ensure a high level of road holdings.
The suspension in the front consists of a double wishbone drop
linking arrangement. With dimensions of 1.77m wide and .90m high,
the car dimensions contribute to an all-around efficiency with
a lowered gravity center and aerodynamics that cannot be beat.
The electrical
motor is a new driving sensation. The acceleration capabilities
are exceptional, yet silent. Not needing a gearbox ensures very
easy driving. The way the car is designed mechanically gives you
the weight-optimized distribution and at the same time a four-wheel
drive. This is evidence of hybrid2 technology's positional benefits,
which is a 3008 standard from 2011 and features a diesel HDi FAP
engine in front and a rear electric motor.
It comes
as no surprise that this 2011 Peugeot EX1 concept car has records
broken and is approved as a terrestrial electric powered vehicle
by the International Automobile Federation.
